Team and Individual Pictures

Here is the schedule for our annual picture nights. This is a considerable fundraiser for our league, as we receive 15% back from picture profits. Please consider purchasing photographs of your child and their team. We made every effort to schedule pictures on the same night as your teams have games, but due to trying to fit everyone in with the photographer schedule there are some teams that have pictures scheduled on a non game night. Forms are available at the concession stand for you to have prepared before your pictures.

Concession Stand Duty Schedule

This is the Duty Schedule for the season. A member from each team is to be at the stand no later than 5 pm on the scheduled day to prepare for opening. Someone from the Board of Directors will be there to assist with opening and closing. The stand may be closed at 9 pm depending on how business is. A full procedure list will be in the concession stand. 2 parents must be in stand at all times, and no one under age 14 may be inside the stand. All trash must be emptied into the dumpster behind the press box, and both restrooms must be cleaned. Refrigerator must be restocked with items from storage room. Please make sure to turn off grill at end of night. Some teams will have duty 2 times during the season. Coaches, please get your parents involved with this, you have enough on your hands without having to staff the concession stand. If each of your parents just spent 30 min. in the stand it would be fully staffed for the evening. Thanks to everyone for your assistance.

We regret to announce that the opening day ceremonies have been postponed until a later date. With inclement weather approaching, it is in the best interests of all involved to not be out in such weather as we may get. We will re-schedule to a later date in the next couple of weeks. The regular season will begin on Monday night with a full slate of games at each field. A complete schedule should be released by Friday night. Thank you for your patience.

2011 Season

Hi Everyone,
We are a bit late getting this site updated for this season, but will hopefully get on track this week. Our season will begin this Saturday (weather permitting) at 10 am at the Sherrill Rominger field. Please have your children there by 9:45 am to line up for the opening ceremony. Each child will be announced and will take the field with their teammates. Our National Colors will be presented by the 24th Judicial District Honor Guard, and the National Anthem performed by Tipton Braswell. Following the ceremony, we will have Major League games on both the baseball and softball fields with the teams playing a pre-season 3 inning game. The schedule should be released by Thursday evening. On the T-ball field, we will have inflateable rides available for all children ages 12 and under, unlimited slide bracelets will be available for $5.00. On the Machine Pitch field, the Parks and Rec. Dept. will conduct their annual Pitch, Hit, and Run competition. The children will have the chance to move on to regional competition in all 3 divisions of this event. There is no cost to participate in this. There is scheduled to be in attendance, members of the Hickory Crawdads staff, members of Appalachian State's baseball team, and the Avery High Baseball team. If the weather co-operates, we will have a great day getting our season started. Come out and join us and support the kids.
